Before I became a full-time coach, I spent 12 years in the corporate world running sales and marketing programs for Fortune 500 companies and dot.com’s. At first when I entered the workforce I loved it. My job was in NYC and I was excited to be in the big city doing big city things. But over time that excitement faded. And even though I was very successful in my career, I grew tired of the commute, the competitiveness, difficult co-workers, and the lack of warmth and understanding I received from many of my bosses.
I always felt like there was something missing but I did not know what. I thought it was me, my fault. I felt like the real me was screaming to get out and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do about it.
I was miserable. But, I was afraid. What if I did not make as much money if I did something else? What happened if people laughed at me more? And worse, what happened if I failed? I decided to face my fear and go for it, because I was MORE AFRAID of doing what I didn’t love for the rest of my life.
So, I made a decision. I would get out of my current job.
I knew once I decided to get out, the answers would come. And, they did. So I put my self on a journey to find a career I love. This is how I became a coach. One day a catalog came to my home and inside was a class titled: How To Become A Personal Coach. I took a chance and signed up for the class and this was the day I began my journey into my new career-the coaching profession. Was it an easy journey for me? Sometimes yes and sometimes no. But I knew I wanted more and would not stop until I got it. I know you have the same in you.
I now have my dream job. I reinvented myself.
